Rachel Vindman laments ‘no pardons were offered’ for her family
Rachel Vindman said she was “hurt” by the snub from President Joe Biden when he did not pardon her family for their role in Donald Trump’s first impeachment.
Vindman is the wife of Trump’s impeachment witness and retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, who was born in Ukraine but immigrated to the United States decades ago. He served under Trump as his director for European Affairs for the U.S. National Security Council from 2018 to 2020 and testified about Trump’s Ukraine scandal in 2019.
“Whatever happens to my family, know this: No pardons were offered or discussed,” Rachel Vindman wrote on Bluesky. “I cannot begin to describe the level of betrayal and hurt I feel.”

This comes after Biden announced preemptive pardons for the members and witnesses of the now-defunct Jan. 6 Committee just hours before Trump’s second inauguration. These pardons included former committee members, Capitol Police officers, and Metropolitan Police Department officers who testified before the committee. None of these recipients are facing any charges.
Vindman notably shared her thoughts on Jack Dorsey’s newest social media platform. Bluesky launched in February 2023 after Tesla CEO Elon Musk bought Dorsey’s old platform, Twitter, now known as X.
Last September, Vindman posted on X after the first assassination attempt against Trump, prompting controversy. While she ultimately deleted the post as a result of the backlash it received, it read, “No ears were harmed. Carry on with your Sunday afternoon.”
Musk has also sparred with Vindman’s husband after he implied that the billionaire was a Russian puppet. Musk responded to the comments made during an MSNBC interview on X.
“Vindman is on the payroll of Ukrainian oligarchs and has committed treason against the United States, for which he will pay the appropriate penalty,” Musk wrote.
While Rachel Vindman has since deleted her X account, her husband remains active on the platform and continues to issue criticisms of Trump.
