The first phase of the ceasefire is set expire on March 1.
Since entering office, Trump himself has voiced doubts about the ceasefire holding and has floated resettling Palestinians in Egypt or Jordan from Gaza.
The Arab League, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and the Palestinian Authority released a joint statement over the weekend rejecting that proposal.
Their statement claimed that Trump’s proposals “threaten the region’s stability, risk expanding the conflict, and undermine prospects for peace and coexistence among its peoples.”
