He characterized their recent election defeats as significant and claimed that this has led to a decline in their assertiveness. Trump noted that he now has increased support compared to his previous term, attributing part of his current success to this perceived disarray within the Democratic Party. He described Democrats as “very bad people” and asserted that they seem to be acting differently due to their loss of confidence. Furthermore, he indicated that his supporters are more satisfied with his performance now, especially in light of the Republicans controlling the government.
Trump says Democrats losing ‘their strut’ has allowed him to enact agenda
President Donald Trump said his ability to enact his agenda during his second administration has been buoyed by Democrats losing “their confidence.”
In an interview with Mark Levin, the president touted his success in enacting his “mandate” after his return to the White House, saying it has been more successful than the last time around. While giving a few reasons as to why, he argued the main reason was the Democratic Party being in disarray.
Levin asked the president if he views things differently during his second term, to which he answered in the affirmative.
“Number one, I know a lot of people. I didn’t know anybody [last time]. I wasn’t in the world of Washington, D.C.,” Trump said. “But the radical Left, they’ve really lost their confidence. It was a bad election defeat. They lost everything … and they’ve lost their confidence. They’ve lost their strut.”
“You know, they’re a bunch of real bad, very bad people. Very, very bad people. I actually think they’re sick people, if you want to know the truth. … But they’ve lost a lot of confidence, and they seem to be different. Plus, I have much greater support than I ever had,” he continued.
Trump’s supporters have been much more satisfied with his second term, nearly 10 years after he first entered the political arena.
Democrats have struggled to find their footing after their resounding defeat in November, especially with Republicans seizing the government trifecta.
