Karoline Leavitt promises to reveal more ‘receipts’ from DOGE
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt announced her commitment to disclose “receipts” related to government spending during press briefings, emphasizing transparency about taxpayer funds. Speaking on Fox News, she discussed how her team has been uncovering alleged misuse of government resources, specifically referencing findings from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Following a recent appearance by Elon Musk at the White House, where specifics of DOGE’s investigatory efforts were questioned, Leavitt insisted that they have substantiated evidence to support their claims. The DOGE initiative, which also examines agencies like the Education, Homeland Security, Treasury, and NASA, aims to complete its work by July 4, 2026. Leavitt’s assertive stance highlights her aim to maintain accountability within government spending and provide clarity on the department’s findings.
Karoline Leavitt promises to reveal more ‘receipts’ on behalf of DOGE
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt suggested she would pull “receipts” from the Department of Government Efficiency‘s findings at every briefing if necessary.
Leavitt appeared on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime hours after the White House press briefing Wednesday, during which she pulled government contracts to back up DOGE’s claims. After holding up handfuls of these documents, Leavitt assured reporters that she and her team were “happy to provide this information to you.”
“The point is that we are discovering this egregious misuse of American taxpayer funds,” Leavitt said. “We have the receipts, and I will continue to pull them at every briefing if they continue to ask, and we will provide that information. We’ve nothing to hide. President Trump is exposing what the American people want him to do.”
This came after DOGE head Elon Musk made an appearance at the White House on Tuesday, taking questions from reporters about the department’s finds so far. His claims were disputed for minute details. Leavitt dismissed corrections in these details, saying, “As if that’s any better.”
DOGE is examining the Education, Homeland Security, Treasury departments, and most recently NASA. The team is hoping to accomplish all of its work by July 4, 2026.
While entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has bowed out of DOGE, Trump appointed his Deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie Miller, to the department in the weeks after the group was announced. The department has faced backlash for hiring young staffers to investigate government spending.
