Elon Musk says X is experiencing ‘massive cyberattack’

X owner Elon Musk shared on his social media platform that his website is undergoing a “massive cyberattack,” which resulted in multiple outages early Monday afternoon.

“There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X,” Musk said on X.

“We get attacked every day,” he continued. “But this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved.”

“Tracing …” he added about his company looking into the source.

Dark Storm Team, an advanced cyber warfare hacking collective, reportedly claimed responsibility for a sophisticated distributed denial-of-service attack on the social media platform.

While the first outage was detected and resolved quickly, according to Downdetector, the website was repeatedly hit with cyberattacks following the incident.

Some people attempted to ask X’s artificial intelligence assistant, Grok, what was happening, but the phrase, “Something went wrong. Please try again,” continued to pop up on the site.

Musk’s businesses were attacked over the weekend after nationwide protests targeted and vandalized his Tesla facilities, cars, dealerships, and charging stations. The protests were organized because of his involvement with President Donald Trump’s efforts to cut wasteful spending and fraud in the federal government through the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency.

The billionaire blamed five ActBlue funders, including the left-wing megadonors George Soros and Reid Hoffman, for being behind the progressive activist groups organizing to target him and his businesses.

“An investigation has found 5 ActBlue-funded groups responsible for Tesla ‘protests’: Troublemakers, Disruption Project, Rise & Resist, Indivisible Project and Democratic Socialists of America,” Musk said.

“ActBlue is currently under investigation for allowing foreign and illegal donations in criminal violation of campaign finance regulations,” he continued.

X users responded to Musk’s message that his platform was under a cyberattack.

“It’s not an attack on X. It’s an attack on Elon Musk. We need to Protect this man,” one X user said.

“It means 𝕏 is over the target,” another person reacted on X.

“The Left is deranged!” another X user responded.

KAROLINE LEAVITT SAYS NO RIFT BETWEEN MUSK AND RUBIO

Former Twitter Files reporter Matt Taibbi quipped on his Substack on Monday that Musk “might want to spend less time arguing with Anne Applebaum’s husband and more time making sure X is on during NFL free agency.”

“Hosni Mubarak might still be ruling Egypt if this had happened in 2011. Yes, I say this selfishly,” he said.
