Mace yells at constituent in viral video after he inquired about town halls – Washington Examiner
In a recent incident, Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) engaged in a heated confrontation with a constituent while shopping at a makeup store. The exchange began when the constituent asked her about the scheduling of future town hall meetings, a topic Mace has previously addressed but has been criticized for not prioritizing lately. The situation escalated as Mace accused the man of harassing her, labeling him “f***ing crazy” during their back-and-forth. Mace, who has a history of making controversial statements, later shared video of the encounter on social media with a dismissive remark about her aggressor’s appearance. The altercation highlights the ongoing tensions between lawmakers and constituents, particularly regarding accessibility and communication.
Mace yells at constituent in viral video after he inquired about town halls
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) got into a shouting match with a constituent at a makeup store over when she would be hosting a town hall.
Republican members of Congress have largely avoided town hall meetings in the early months of President Donald Trump‘s second term, with many accusing Democrats and Democratic-aligned groups of hijacking the meetings to grandstand.
Mace, who has held town halls in the past, was asked by a man when she would be holding another town hall, which led to a feisty exchange. The South Carolina Republican shared a video of the interaction, which begins in the middle of the exchange.
Some unhinged lunatic, a man, wearing daisy dukes, at a makeup store, got in my face today. Dems are nuts. So I went off – and I won’t be backing down.
I hold the line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Try me. pic.twitter.com/Uv181Ovys0

“Some unhinged lunatic, a man, wearing daisy dukes, at a makeup store, got in my face today. Dems are nuts. So I went off – and I won’t be backing down. I hold the line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Try me,” Mace posted on X. “I just wanted some face wash on my afternoon off lol.”
In the video, Mace insists that she regularly does town halls every year and that she will do one in the future, getting increasingly frustrated at the man and accusing him of harassing her.
“I’ve already done one, I’ll do plenty more,” Mace said, as the man pushes by saying, “It’s a simple question.”
“You’re always invited,” she added.
Mace then shifts the conversation, seemingly assuming the man is gay, by noting that she supports gay marriage.
“What does that have to do with me?” the man asked, taking offense to the comment.
The conversation then returns to discussing town halls, to which she calls the man “f***ing crazy.”
“Where were you the year before that or the year before that? Oh, because you know what, because you people on the Left are crazy, you’re absolutely f***ing crazy,” Mace said.
She then tells the man to get out of her face and tells him “f*** you,” as he walks away calling her “insane.”
“You’re going to be voted out so fast this year,” the man said, to which Mace responded that she “won by so much” in the last election.
The pair exchange “f*** yous” before Mace declares that “you couldn’t take me on, baby” and tells him to “stay the f*** away from me.”
NANCY MACE UPS FEUD WITH HOUSE PROGRESSIVE: ‘WANT TO TAKE IT OUTSIDE?’
Mace has regularly made headlines for her actions and conduct while in elected office, including making a sex joke at a prayer breakfast and wearing a “scarlet letter.”
She has also gotten into squabbles with other members of Congress, including with Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) during a committee hearing in January.
