Nadine Menendez was found guilty in her federal bribery trial, months after her husband, former Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ), was convicted for similar crimes.

Prosecutors had alleged the couple were “partners in crime” as they traded political favors for cash, gold bars, and a Mercedes-Benz convertible. She was found guilty on Monday of bribery, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to commit those crimes, and other related counts.

Her sentencing date is in June, when the former senator will report to prison for an 11-year sentence. Nadine faces a similar lengthy term.

Nadine, 58, was indicted in September 2023 on bribery charges with her husband, but her trial was delayed due to her breast cancer treatment.

Bob was convicted last year on all 16 counts in his federal corruption trial. He was the first sitting member of Congress to be convicted of acting as a foreign agent. A jury found him guilty of accepting hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of bribes.

Shortly into their relationship, Nadine introduced Bob to Egyptian intelligence and military officials, according to the prosecution, adding that those introductions established a corrupt agreement between his Senate office and Egyptian leaders.

The senator served as the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations chairman when he was indicted.
