Official Trump Organization store selling ‘Trump 2028’ hats

The Trump Institution has launched a new merchandise line featuring “Trump 2028” hats, sparking speculation about former President Donald Trump’s potential candidacy for a third term in office. The hats were spotted on the Trump Store website and have generated buzz on social media, notably after Eric Trump was seen wearing one. Although the hats are not available on the Trump campaign’s site, the emergence of this merchandise aligns with ongoing discussions about a possible 2028 presidential run by Trump. Supporter and podcast host Steve Bannon has indicated plans for Trump’s election strategy, while critics, including sports journalist stephen A. Smith, have questioned the feasibility of circumventing the 22nd Amendment, wich limits U.S. presidents to two elected terms. Simultaneously occurring, Vice President JD Vance has been mentioned as a strong successor within the Republican Party, and potential Democratic candidates, such as Maryland Governor Wes Moore, are also being identified for the upcoming election cycle.

The Trump Organization’s official store is selling hats that say “Trump 2028,” fueling speculation that President Donald Trump could seek another term in the Oval Office.

Social media users noticed the new merchandise on the Trump Store, the retail website for the Trump Organization, on Thursday. The Trump War Room X account has since posted a photo of the president’s son, Eric Trump, sporting the new hat.

The same hat is not for sale on the Trump campaign’s website.

Rumblings of Trump possibly running for president in 2028 have been heard since he returned to the White House in January. The rumors have been pushed mainly by podcast host and Trump supporter Steve Bannon, who said he is working on “a couple of alternatives” for Trump to seek another term in office.

The Constitution’s 22nd Amendment, ratified in 1951, a few years after former President Franklin D. Roosevelt served four terms from 1932 to 1944, states that a U.S. president cannot be elected to more than two terms. Sports journalist Stephen A. Smith pointed to the amendment last month, saying Trump supporters are seeking to “circumvent” the Constitution.

Amid the debate over whether Trump should pursue another term, Vice President JD Vance has emerged as the popular pick to succeed him in the White House, with Tucker Carlson saying Vance would further Trump’s “legacy.” Earlier this year, Trump declined to endorse Vance, saying there are “a lot of very capable people,” while adding that Vance is “doing a fantastic job.”

THE DEMOCRATS IN PRIME POSITION TO BE FACE OF THE PARTY IN 2028

On the other side of the aisle, Gov. Wes Moore (D-MD) is shaping up to be a possible Democratic presidential nominee in 2028. Moore recently received the praise of actor and director George Clooney, who called him a “proper leader.”

The Washington Examiner reached out to the Trump Organization for comment.
