U.S., allies sanction Chinese officials over Uyghur genocide

The United States and it’s allies across Europe have slapped sanctions on Chinese officials connected to the Uyghur Muslim genocide. On Monday, the U.S. Treasury Department, the EU, the U.K. and Canada imposed sanctions on two officials for working on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in the Xinjiang region.
The sanctions cited human rights abuses against ethnic minorities as well as reports of torture and “political reeducation.” The American sanctions block all properties, interests and prohibits all transactions with entities affiliated with the two Chinese officials that were sanctioned.

Meanwhile, the European Union’s sanctions target two more officials of the communist regime.
