Former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley said she will not make a bid for the White House if President Trump chooses to enter the race himself. She made that comment Monday, following a tour of South Carolina State University.
Haley, who represented the U.S. at the United Nations from 2017 to 2018 and as governor of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017, has been floated as a leading contender for the GOP nomination in 2024.
While explaining her assurance she would not run against the 45th president, Haley pointed to her good working relationship with him. She also said she’s currently focused on fighting against Democrat attempts at dismantling the achievements of the Trump administration.
NeverTrump to me is Never ANY Republican who supports Trump. And that includes Nikki Haley. https://t.co/LpzYJLcE5N

Analysts have pointed out Haley’s comments may be an attempt at regaining support among President Trump’s base after she publicly criticized him following the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.
