‘Ever Tried To Get A Job Outside Of Their Father’s Business?’ Hunter Biden Targets Trump Children

In his memoir, “Beautiful Things,” Hunter Biden reportedly takes aim at former President Trump’s children, Donald Jr. and Eric, writing, “Do you think if any of the Trump children ever tried to get a job outside of their father’s business that his name wouldn’t figure into the calculation? My response has always been to work harder so that my accomplishments stand on their own.”

Biden’s comments in the book, which was released April 6, came after Donald Trump Jr. told Axios in March 2020 he wanted to debate Hunter Biden regarding who had benefited more financially from their father being in the federal government.

Trump Jr. stated, “We can go full transparency, we show everything, and we can talk about all of the places where I am supposedly grifting but Hunter Biden isn’t.” Asked if he would release his tax returns, Trump Jr. said, “If we do it both, 100%. Let’s talk about who profited off of whose public service. Happy to do it. Let’s make it happen.”

Trump Jr. stated on Fox News in October 2019, “When you’re the father and your son’s entire career is dependent on that, they own you. They’ve bought Biden Inc., and they’ve been doing it domestically, whether it was MBNA Bank, whether it was Amtrak, whatever it was, domestically, when he was a senator, and had influence over domestic policy, and they started doing it internationally the second Joe Biden became vice-president and had authority abroad.”

The New York Times reported in 2008 on Hunter Biden’s connection with MBNA: “During the years that Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. was helping the credit card industry win passage of a law making it harder for consumers to file for bankruptcy protection, his son had a consulting agreement that lasted five years with one of the largest companies pushing for the changes, aides to Senator Barack Obama’s presidential campaign acknowledged Sunday. Mr. Biden’s son, Hunter, received consulting fees from the MBNA Corporation from 2001 to 2005 for work on online banking issues.”

The Washington Free Beacon reported in October 2019 on Hunter’s Amtrak position: “Hunter Biden’s only qualification for obtaining a seat on the Amtrak board of directors in 2006 was that he often rode trains. That’s according to his father Joe Biden’s Delaware colleague in the Senate, Tom Carper, who offered the sole nomination speech for the younger Biden when his name was presented in the Senate Commerce Committee.”

Hunter Biden cited his time on the board of the directors of Amtrak as one of the reasons to justify his position on the board of the Ukrainian company Burisma.

Roughly two weeks after Trump Jr.’s remarks,  he again targeted Hunter Biden, telling Fox News, “I wish my name was Hunter Biden. I could go abroad and make millions off my father’s presidency. I’d be a really rich guy.”

Stylecaster reported other comments from Hunter Biden’s book:

At one point in the memoir, the father of five calls out fellow First Sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump for finding success through nepotism. The former president’s sons have worked with him for the entirety of their professional careers, whereas Hunter notes, “I’ve worked for someone other than my father, rose and fell on my own.” “There’s no question my last name was a coveted credential. That has always been the case,” Hunter writes later in the memoir, acknowledging his own privilege as Joe Biden’s son.
