Here Comes The Critical Race Theory Gaslighting
Count on Democrats and their media cheerleaders to gaslight the American people on important issues.
They did it with court packing when they decided it no longer meant what it had meant for 60 years (adding positions to the Supreme Court in order to flip its ideological bent), but now suddenly meant Republicans were doing something wrong by simply doing what they were supposed to do (filling open and existing court seats). They also did this with the phrase “sexual preference,” a common term that was suddenly deemed objectionable because Democrats needed to find a reason to call Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett a bigot.
The latest example involves critical race theory, a recent trend of propaganda pushed by Democrats to claim America is inherently racist and that white people are all racist, whether consciously or not, and must atone for it. Sure, those aren’t the words they use. They describe the radical ideology with terms like “diversity,” “inclusion” and “equity” – all words that sound good on the surface, but are being used in discriminatory ways.
Multiple states have passed or introduced legislation that would keep the radical ideology out of public schools, to keep children from being taught to either hate the color of their skin (if they’re white) or to view white children as oppressors. In other words, to keep children from being taught to hate each other. Parents, teachers, students, and of course, Republicans, are revolting against CRT across the country, yet Democrats and their media supporters have begun to gaslight readers and viewers on the issue.
As The Daily Wire previously reported, The New York Times is the most high-profile outlet to spread falsehoods about the bills that have been introduced in these states.
In an article titled “Texas Pushes to Obscure the State’s History of Slavery and Racism,” the Times insists that the move to keep critical race theory out of public schools is a move to “ban teaching about the enduring legacies of slavery and segregationist laws, or that any state or the country is inherently racist or sexist.”
As journalist Christopher Rufo noted on Twitter: “This is a USSR-level lie. None of the bills prohibit schools from teaching about slavery or racism; they prohibit schools from compelling students to believe in race essentialism, collective guilt, and racial superiority theory.”
The Times has been joined by the usual culprits in pushing false information about the movement to ban children from being taught to be racist. PolitiFact, for example, claimed legislation to ban CRT was a way to force teachers to “confin[e] their lessons to a limited view of American history and current events.” That “limited view” is to not include the new radical, historically false interpretation of American history foisted upon the public by the Times’ “1619 Project,” which insists the whole point of founding America was for slavery (it wasn’t). Numerous scholars have pointed out just how factually inaccurate the project’s central themes are, yet the Times and Democrats continue to hold it up as some brilliant journalism (it’s not).
ABC News also joined in the gaslighting last week.
“Some educators across the U.S. expanded their curriculums on racial inequality in response to the turbulent year of protests against police brutality and disproportionate police violence against Black people,” the outlet claimed. “Some curriculums now include more racialized historical events, such as the Tulsa race riot and the Rodney King case and the subsequent Los Angeles riots, that highlight the plight of Black and brown Americans in the United States. But those educators say their efforts are in danger due to these potential new restrictions on education.”
That’s not what the bills attempt to ban. ABC knows this.
Democrats, yet again, are on the wrong side of history by trying to bring back government-enforced racism and segregation. The Federalist reported on a poll from Competitive Edge Research, released by Parents Defending Education, which found that 74% of respondents were “somewhat or strongly opposed” to their children being put through “white privilege” training and for schools to claim that white people are oppressors while non-white people are oppressed.
