Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) attempted to condemn the violence on Capitol Hill despite her history of praising Black Lives Matter protests.
On Thursday, Harris kicked her speech off by attacking the violent protestors on Capitol Hill following the lead of many Republicans who also denounced the demonstration.
“The challenge we’re facing in our country is about more than the actions of the few we watched yesterday,” Harris stated. “It’s about how to reform, how to transform a justice system that does not work equally for all.”
While many lawmakers delivered statements from a non-partisan perspective, Harris made her argument politically charged, claiming if Black Lives Matter protestors had also stormed the Capitol, they would have been treated much worse.
We have witnessed two systems of justice: one that let extremists storm the U.S. Capitol yesterday, and another that released tear gas on peaceful protestors last summer. It’s simply unacceptable.

In 2020, these so-called “peaceful protests,” which involved Antifa rioters and radical left-wing activists, inflicted over $2 billion in damage.
In an interview over the summer when the protests had reached peak intensity, she advocated for citizens to take action, arguing for the “power of the protest.”
“The greatest movements that we have seen in recent history, have been born out of protest,” Harris said. “Have been born out of understanding the power of the people, to take to the streets and force their government to address what is wrong”
Despite the damage done in America’s cities and the increasing national unrest, she urged the mobs to not let up.
“They’re not gonna stop. This is a movement, I’m telling you, they’re not gonna stop,” Harris said. “Everyone beware, because they’re not gonna stop before election day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after. Everyone should take note of that. On both levels, that they’re not gonna let up, and they should not.”
According to Harris, protesting evidence of voter fraud and a potential mass media cover-up by gathering at the nation’s Capitol is unacceptable. However, if you’re rioting, looting and setting buildings on fire all in the name of radical left-wing causes, then you’re simply part of a “movement.”
