Around 1,800 witnesses and victims are preparing to testify against the 20 men suspected of orchestrating a terrorist attack in France nearly six years ago. On Wednesday, the trail began for 20 ISIS militants accused of coordinating shootings and bombings, which left 130 people dead in November of 2015.
More than 300 lawyers are expected to present evidence over the next nine-months. Unprecedented security measures are being taken to ensure the safety of those attending the specially built courtroom as they will have to pass through several checkpoints to enter.

“The terrorist threat in France is particularly high and during certain occasions such as religious festivals, or what you have just said,” stated French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin. “These trials on attacks, where there is pressure in media and politics focusing on the trial of radical Islamism, clearly the threat is even higher. This is why I gathered the prefects, I gave them clear instruction to provide security.”
The trial is expected to be filmed, however, the footage won’t be released to the public for 50 years.
