A service member out of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit who had protected the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Afghanistan is under investigation. Lance Cpl. Hunter Clark attended a Save America Rally last week and now could see consequences for potentially breaking the military’s rules.
“I am the guy that pulled the baby over the wall and it’s definitely probably one of the greatest things I’ve done in my entire life,” said Clark, commenting on the video that went viral.
Clark served during the Afghanistan withdrawal, saving lives. However, he is now being called out for taking the stage at the Save America Rally. Taking part in political activities isn’t allowed in the military, but in the Corporal’s home state, he was invited by 45th President Trump to give a few words on stage.
“We’re also honored to be joined by one of the Marines who bravely served in Kabul during the withdrawal,” announced Trump at the event. “You saw him, he did a great job, Lance Cpl. Hunter Ian Clark. Lance Corporal., get up here!”
“The only thing I trusted was that he was a Marine and my daughter would be fine,” says the father of the baby who was passed over razor wire to a U.S. Marine at the Kabul airport.

Clark introduced himself, thanked the crowd for the applauds and gave a few words showing his gratitude for being able to return home. “I just want to thank all the support from all y’all, it really means a lot and I’m glad to be home now today. Thank you,” said Clark.
Although, Press Officer Kelton Cochran of the 24th Marine Expedition Army Unit has accused Clark of dishonesty, saying he wasn’t the soldier in the viral video. Reports said it’s unclear if other troops took part in helping infants over the wall, alleging Clark is taking credit for other troop’s aid.
Clark is now awaiting the conclusion of a command investigation, which will determine if he violated any Department of Defense policies.
