How Low Can She Go? Kamala Harris’ Approval Rating Plunges To Just 28%

Americans don’t like President Joe Biden, but they really don’t like Vice President Kamala Harris.

Harris’ approval rating has plunged to just 28%, according to a poll of registered votersreleased this week by USA Today and Suffolk University. Biden’s rating hit yet another a new low, plummeting to 38%.

Among the poll’s major findings, per USA Today:

Nearly half of those surveyed, 46%, say Biden has done a worse job as president than they expected, including 16% of those who voted for him. Independents, by 7-1 (44%-6%), say he’s done worse, not better, than they expected.Nearly two-thirds of Americans, 64%, say they don’t want Biden to run for a second term in 2024. That includes 28% of Democrats. Opposition to Trump running for another term in 2024 stands  at 58%, including 24% of Republicans.Vice President Kamala Harris’ approval rating is 28% – even worse than Biden’s. The poll shows that 51% disapprove of the job she’s doing. One in 5, 21%, are undecided.Americans overwhelmingly support the infrastructure bill Biden is about to sign, but they are split on the more expensive and further-reaching “Build Back Better” act being debated in Congress. Only 1 in 4 say the bill’s provisions would help them and their families.

Harris basement-dwelling numbers are unprecedented, Business Insider reported.

“The closest comparison – which involves slightly different methodology and margins of error – would be former Vice President Dick Cheney, the most unpopular US vice president in polling history. He bottomed out at 30% in Gallup’s tracking survey, but that wasn’t until the end of former President George W. Bush’s second term in 2007,” the news site reported.

Many of the polls on the Biden team have been drifting downward amid rising inflation and another outbreak of a COVID-19 variant. And people are losing hope.

“A recent ABC News/Ipsos poll recently found that just 45 percent of Americans are optimistic about the direction of the country,” The Federalist reported in August. “The drop is nearly 20 percent lower than the 64 percent optimism polled in May shortly after Biden completed 100 days in office. The same poll indicated that 55 percent of respondents are pessimistic about the direction of the country, which is up 19 points from the 36 percent who reported the same thing in May.”

Meanwhile, Harris was busy making headlines in France. On Tuesday, the vice president visited the Institut Pasteur science lab in Paris, where Americans have joined forces with Europeans to battle COVID-19. But the visit drew scorn from some.

“Kamala Harris
