A Shattered Family: Mother Of Two Young Murdered Israeli Sisters Dies From Same Attack
The mother of two teenage girls murdered by Palestinian terrorists on Friday died on Monday from wounds she suffered in the same attack.
Hadassah Medical Center announced that Lucy Dee, the mother of Maia and Rina, who were 15 and 20 years old, had died.
“48-year-old Lucy Dee was evacuated by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem in critical condition, where our medical teams fought for her life over the past few days, in the trauma unit, the operating room, and the intensive care unit where she was treated,” the hospital said in a statement. “Unfortunately, despite supreme and unceasing efforts, due to her critical injuries, she was declared dead today.”
“The Dee family warmly thanked the medical team at Hadassah who did everything possible to save Lucy and did not give up until her last moments,” the hospital continued. “Despite the great grief and heartbreak, the family has decided to donate Lucy’s organs in order to save other lives. Hadassah Medical Center shares in the family’s great sorrow.”

Lucy Dee and her daughters were traveling to Tiberias in Galilee when terrorists shot at their car. The terrorists then approached the vehicle and fired at the women at close range. According to Israeli public broadcaster Kan, 22 bullet casings were found.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented: “On behalf of all citizens of Israel, I convey heartfelt condolences to the Dee family on the passing of the mother of the family, Leah (Lucy), who was murdered in the severe terrorist attack in the Jordan Valley last Friday, together with her two daughters Maia and Rina.”

Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu from the Otzma Yehudit party said, “Any sign of weakness that we showed in the past three decades did not work. Anytime we showed weakness to the people who harmed us, in the end, we were hurt, we and our children.”
Absolutely tragic.

Say their names:
🔹 Rina Dee (15)
🔹 May Dee (20)
🔹 Lucy Dee (48)Murdered by blood-thirsty Palestinian cowards and savages. Their only ‘crime’? Being Jews in their ancestral homeland. May their memories always be blessed and their deaths be avenged without mercy. pic.twitter.com/tzUpRPmxEK

The Dee family came from Great Britain before emigrating to Israel; the father, Rabbi Leo Dee, originally came from Radlett. Rabbi Dee said at his daughter’s funeral he didn’t know how he would tell his wife that their daughters were dead when she awakened from her wounds. She never did.

The BBC titled its article about the tragedy, “Maia and Rina Dee: Funerals of sisters killed in occupied West Bank to take place,” using a common reference to the region that ignores the Jewish historical and Biblical claim to Judea and Samaria, where most of the events of the Bible took place.
