Aaron Carter’s Former Fiancée Casts Doubt On Autopsy Report: ‘I Don’t Buy It’

Melanie Martin, the former fiancée of deceased singer Aaron Carter, cast doubt on the accuracy of the autopsy report that was released this week by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, saying that she doesn’t “buy it.”

Officials said that Carter drowned “due to the effects of difluoroethane (aerosol propellant found in spray cans) and alprazolam (commonly referred to as Xanax).”

“On the morning of November 5, 2022, Mr. Carter was found submerged in the bathtub at his residence, located in Lancaster, by his reported housekeeper who called 911 and was instructed to begin CPR,” the statement said. “Paramedics were called to the location and Mr. Carter was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:14 a.m.”

Following the investigation, Carter’s body was sent to the department’s Forensic Science Center for examination, and the deputy medical examiner completed a full autopsy on the body.

“Following the completion and receipt of relevant test results, the cause of death was certified on April 14,” the statement concluded. “The manner of death was certified as accident.”

Martin responded to the results in an interview with The U.S. Sun, saying: “I am not getting the closure I need because I don’t buy it.”

“He was found with clothing on the coroner told me, how would he have drowned with clothing on?” she said. “I still have a lot more questions I would like answered regarding the police investigation.”

“I am having to come to terms with the fact that Prince and I, along with Aaron’s family and friends, may never have all the answers,” she said. “I am thankful to all who have been so supportive of Prince and I throughout this, from the certain family members who were still in Aaron’s life til the end, to Aaron’s true friends, to his many devoted fans.”

Martin said that Carter was acting abnormally right before his death and that “nothing of the last few days of his life added up to a normal pattern.”

She said that one night he left to go to Walmart which was “unusual” because he had anxiety and “he’d usually ask someone else to go places for him.”

Carter battled several mental health issues — including multiple personality disorder, schizophrenia, acute anxiety, and bipolar disorder — and had to take numerous medications to help treat the illnesses.
