Aaron Rodgers Breaks Silence and Fuels Retirement Rumors
Aaron Rodgers is a free agent…on the dating scene. Rodgers had a whirlwind NFL season that included a COVID diagnosis and ended with MVP honors and the termination of his relationship with Shailene Woodley.
Throughout the season, the Packers’ QB dodged questions on whether or not he planned on retiring or perhaps leaving the Packers after years of public and private bickering over the direction of the team and Rodger’s control over the offense.
On Monday night, Rodgers broke his silence on his dating and professional life and left many people wondering if the quarterback was hanging up his helmet for good.

In the text of the post, Rodgers shared some #MondayNightGratitude. First, for his former girlfriend Woodley, who he thanked for:

Is Aaron Rodgers Retiring?
The post read like a speech someone gives at a retirement dinner, which has a lot of people speculating that Rodgers may be on his way out.
I don’t think Rodgers is going anywhere. I think he still wants another Super Bowl victory before he leaves the gridiron for good.
This isn’t going to come off as popular, but based on many rumors and just the “vibe” I get, Rodgers seems to me to be a master manipulator and attention seeker.

It wouldn’t surprise me if this post wasn’t just designed for the media and fans to talk about him and churn the rumor mill for the months where we don’t have any football.*
Rodgers On The Pat McAfee Show
Pairing with the rumors, Rodgers went on the Pat McAfee Show for his semi-weekly pow-wow with the popular host and WWE commentator.

Rodgers started the interview by talking about the “panchakarma cleanse” he had just finished. But most importantly, he said there would be “no decision announced today.” And he told people to “flip off” if they watched the show to hear his retirement announcement.

A “no decision” is in itself a decision. That Rodgers is openly considering retirement is news itself. I suspect Rodgers will make a decision, if any, around the time OTA’s start, which is at the end of May.

*Yes, I know the USFL and XFL are coming back, but let’s be honest here no one wants to watch mid-tier minor league football.
