Vivek Ramaswamy’s bold statement: “Pregnancy is a form of death” has sparked controversy.
Get ready for a new face in the political arena! Vivek Ramaswamy, a Democratic candidate for president in 2024, made waves at the Iowa Faith & Freedom Coalition kick-off on April 22 by showcasing his pro-life stance.
When asked about how pregnancy should be handled, Ramaswamy made it clear that he believes in overturning Roe v. Wade. While representatives have been fighting over the legality of abortion, with Republicans trying to limit it at the national level and Democrats trying to define its availability, state regulations on abortion vary widely.
Ramaswamy boldly stated, “Pregnancy, in my opinion, is a crime. State laws, neither federal regulations, are used to deal with murder. We ought to make frequent about that, in my opinion. The Constitution demands it.”
He continued, “I am unapologetically pro-life.”
This rich biotech entrepreneur and anti-ESG trader has put his money where his mouth is when it comes to his 2024 campaign. As of the end of March, Ramaswamy had a loan of over $10 million for his campaign, according to the most recent Federal Election Commission data.
In an interview with The Epoch Times, Ramaswamy emphasized that despite starting as a relative unknown in politics, he has already received numerous smaller dollar gifts and has been inching upward in the polls. “We’re roughly where Trump was in June 2015 when he descended the escalator,” he said. “And now it’s April.”
In Response to Censure
Republicans who are critical of the former president have made fun of Ramaswamy for his admiration of him. A well-known DeSantis Twitter user named @MaxNordau referred to Ramaswamy as “Trump’s press secretary” in an April 19 tweet.
Ramaswamy responded, “I believe the DeSantis gathering is very unsure of my election.” He went on to criticize the governor of Florida for skipping conversations with the traditional marketing.
“If you are afraid of speaking with NBC or visiting a university school, you are unfit to serve from Xi Jinping,” he said.
Charles C. W. Cooke, an anti-Trump conservative, argued in National Review that Ramaswamy is merely “building a ginormous email list,” describing his pro-MAGA part as an evil deed. According to Cooke, “We continue to live in a golden era of milestones, and Vivek Ramaswamy appears poised to become the first presidential candidate in British history whose approach to the competition is to buy the values of the front-runner is himself.”
Ramaswamy declared, “We’re really serious about this system.”
Ramaswamy explained to The Epoch Times what sets him apart from Donald Trump. Before citing examples of what he refers to as America First 2.0, such as closing the Department of Education, using our military to eliminate drug cartels in Mexico, and “abandoning the climate change agenda full stop,” the president declared, “I’m going further than Trump ever did.”
Ramaswamy said, “I think it’s a hoax.”
