Actor Ezra Miller Accused Of ‘Violence,’ ‘Cult-Like’ Behavior Toward Teenage Standing Rock Activist Beginning When She Was 12

The parents of a Standing Rock activist are accusing “Fantastic Beasts” actor Ezra Miller of grooming their daughter, now 18, since she was 12 years old.

Chase Iron Eyes and Sara Jumping Eagle filed a complaint this week at the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court on behalf of their child, Gibson Iron Eyes (formerly Tokata Iron Eyes), per Deadline. The document states: “Ezra uses violence, intimidation, threat of violence, fear, paranoia, delusions, and drugs to hold sway over a young adolescent Tokata.” 

It goes on to say Miller engaged in “cult-like and psychologically manipulative, controlling behavior.”

Gibson’s parents claim Miller met their daughter at Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota when she was 12. They say the actor gave Gibson alcohol and drugs and flew her to various locations around the world. Now her parents are filing for a restraining order, which will go into effect if Miller does not appear for the requested appearance in South Dakota July 12, per Rolling Stone.

“If [they] were of [their] right mind and just making jacked-up decisions, I would be like, ‘OK, you have to learn the hard way,’” Jumping Eagle told the publication about her daughter. “But [they’re] not only having mental health issues, but there’s a predator taking advantage of [them] at the same time.”

Gibson herself, meanwhile, denies the notion that Miller coerced her in any way.

She said the “We Need to Talk About Kevin” actor offered her “loving support and invaluable protection throughout this period of loss,” when a friend died last year.

“I am an adult and I deserve to feel authority in my own body,” Gibson shared on Instagram. “The nature of police intervention in my ‘case’ is unnecessary and it is a waste of time and resource.”

Gibson accused her parents of “psychological manipulation” and “transphobia,” saying that their attempt to “punish” her by accusing Miller of coercion was “traumatically life-altering.”

She also said she is “in no way, or under any circumstance have ever been under my short-lived adulthood, in need of a conservatorship.” 

Gibson’s mom has a different take. She told Rolling Stone that she and the teen’s dad had to fly to South Dakota earlier this year to take her to a mental health facility following a bad LSD trip that occurred while she was staying with Miller.

“I was concerned about [Gibson’s] safety. [They’re] basically in a mini R. Kelly situation,” Jumping Eagle says. “It really reminds me of that: How [they’re] isolating people, distancing [them] from [their] families and friends.”

Deadline noted that Miller was arrested twice earlier this year, once for a bar fight and another time for second-degree assault. Miller also stars in “The Flash,” which debuts in June 2023. The actor identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns.
