Tragic Car Crash in Sacramento Leaves One Dead and Nine Children Injured
A car crash in Sacramento, California, on Wednesday night left one adult dead and 10 others seriously injured, nine of whom are children, law enforcement said.
According to Zach Eaton, a spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department, the children involved in the accident are all between the ages of 3 and 8. Eaton also stated that all of the injured individuals are either in critical or serious condition, as reported by local outlet KCRA.
Investigation Underway
Eaton said Wednesday night that the cause of the crash, which happened at about 8:15 p.m., was unknown. The car was a smaller sedan, and after the crash, it did not catch fire. It is unknown whether the adult who died was the driver and if they were ejected from the vehicle.
Police have confirmed that it was a one-vehicle crash, and the initial call they received said the car had crashed into a tree. However, the investigation has only just begun, and more details are yet to be revealed. Ten ambulances were sent to respond to the scene.
Heartfelt Condolences
“Our hearts are with the families and the friends of everybody that’s associated with this horribly tragic incident moving forward,” Eaton said, per ABC10.
This is a heartbreaking incident that has left many families devastated. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this tragedy.
