Following⁤ the announcement that Trump was ordered to pay hundreds of millions of dollars and was banned from conducting‍ business in New York for three years, James held ⁤a press conference to discuss the case.

“For years, Donald Trump engaged⁢ in deceptive ‍business ‍practices and tremendous fraud.⁣ Donald Trump may have authored The Art‍ Of The Deal, but he perfected the art ‍of the steal,” she said in an attempt at humor.

The book that James was ⁢referring to is Trump’s best-selling novel The Art Of The Deal, ‍which reached #1 on “The New⁤ York Times ‌ Best Sellers List.”

The book stayed at the top of the charts for‍ around ‌13 weeks when it was released in⁤ 1987.

James has spent years ⁣pursuing Trump in order to take him down. In⁤ order to win over liberal and leftist New Yorkers, ⁣she ran an anti-Trump campaign in her 2019 run for attorney ⁤general of the state.

Prior to her launching the case against the 45th president, she was caught in⁣ a video laughing and⁣ saying that she⁤ is going to sue Trump and be a “pain the ass.”

“We’re definitely gonna ‌sue him, we’re gonna be⁢ a real pain in the ass!”

When James first sued the 2024 GOP front-runner in⁢ the⁣ fall of 2022, she asked the judge to⁢ penalize Trump $250 million for “inflating his net worth in order to ⁤retain better loans.”

However, her number later rose to ‍$370 million in January,‍ as she claimed that throughout the trial her opinion ⁤had changed⁢ and her new belief was that ⁣Trump‍ “gained all of his money unlawfully.”

In a 92-page ruling, Judge Arthur‍ Engoron stated that Trump must pay $354.9 million ⁣in the civil fraud⁣ trial, while each of his sons are required to pay‌ $4 million for their “personal profits from the fraud.”

Additionally, Trump is barred from⁢ conducting business in the⁤ state ‍for three years and his sons are ⁢banned for two⁣ years.

The ruling will⁣ be appealed by‌ Trump’s team.

What penalty did ⁤Judge Engoron impose on Donald Trump and his sons in the civil fraud trial

S sons, Eric and Donald Trump Jr., are banned from conducting ⁢business for two years. The judge’s ruling came after he found⁣ Trump liable⁢ for conspiring to‍ manipulate his net worth.

Attorney General ‌Letitia James expressed her satisfaction with the verdict during⁢ a press conference following the trial. She described it as a “massive victory for New York, our nation, and everyone who believes we all must play by the same ‌rules.” James emphasized ‍that the ruling demonstrates that no one, regardless of their wealth or status, is⁢ above the law.

James also quoted Trump’s famous book, “The Art of the Deal,” but ‍with a twist. She said,‍ “Donald Trump may have authored “The Art of the Deal,” but he perfected the art of the steal.” This comment was made in an attempt at humor, highlighting Trump’s⁢ alleged fraudulent practices.

The book‍ itself, “The Art of the Deal,” achieved significant success when it was released in 1987, reaching #1 on ”The New York Times Best Sellers List” and ⁣remaining at the top for 13 weeks.

Letitia James has been pursuing ‍legal action against‍ Trump for several years.⁢ Prior ‍to her campaign for attorney‍ general of New York in 2019, she ran an anti-Trump campaign to align ⁣herself with liberal and leftist voters.‌ In a video, she‌ was caught saying, “We’re definitely ‌gonna sue him, we’re gonna be a real ‌pain in the ⁣ass!” This statement reflects her determination to take ‍legal action against⁣ Trump.

When James first ⁢sued Trump in 2022, she initially sought a‌ penalty‌ of $250⁢ million for allegedly inflating his net worth.‍ However, as the trial progressed, she revised her claim, requesting $370 million and accusing ‍Trump of unlawfully acquiring ‍all of ‍his wealth.

The ‍final ruling from‍ Judge ⁤Engoron stated that Trump must ⁤pay $354.9 million in the civil fraud trial. Additionally, his sons, Eric and Donald‍ Trump Jr., are⁤ required to pay ‍$4 million each for their ⁤personal profits from the⁣ fraud. Furthermore, Trump⁢ is prohibited from conducting business in the⁢ state of New ⁣York for⁢ three years, ‍while his sons face a two-year business ⁤ban.

The outcome of this case marks a significant victory for Letitia James⁢ and her pursuit of justice against Donald Trump. It serves⁢ as a reminder that even the most⁣ powerful individuals can face legal consequences for their actions. As the legal battle concludes, it remains to be seen what further implications this ruling will have on Trump’s ‌future ventures ‍and his standing in American politics.
