Failed 2000 Democrat presidential nominee Al Gore has claimed that the fossil fuel industry is hindering progress.
Sunday on CNN, the former vice president expressed his despair at the ongoing use of fossil fuels.
However, he believes that it is possible to eliminate fossil fuels if governments are willing to overcome greed.
“We have to make a decision to move beyond fossil fuels and accelerate the transition to renewable energy and efficiency. You know, this is beginning to happen anyway,” Gore stated.
Gore’s comments come after the recent climate conference where a proposal to end the global use of high-density energy sources was put forward but failed to be adopted.

Why does Al Gore believe that eliminating fossil fuels is both possible and necessary?
The Fossil Fuel Industry Hindering Progress, Says Al Gore
Former Vice President Al Gore, the failed 2000 Democrat presidential nominee, has expressed his concern about the ongoing use of fossil fuels and its impact on progress. In a recent interview with CNN, Gore lamented the fact that the fossil fuel industry continues to hinder efforts to combat climate change.
Gore believes that eliminating fossil fuels is not only possible but also necessary. He argues that governments need to overcome greed and prioritize the transition to renewable energy and efficiency in order to address the pressing issue of climate change.
“We have to make a decision to move beyond fossil fuels and accelerate the transition to renewable energy and efficiency. You know, this is beginning to happen anyway,” stated Gore. He emphasized the urgency of taking action and highlighted the fact that this transition is already underway.
However, despite the growing global awareness and concern about climate change, the recent climate conference failed to adopt a proposal to end the global use of high-density energy sources. This setback highlights the challenges faced in shifting away from fossil fuels and the influence the industry still holds.
Gore’s statements echo the sentiments of many climate activists and scientists who argue that immediate action is needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the effects of climate change. The urgency of the situation calls for a concerted effort by governments, industries, and individuals to prioritize sustainable energy sources and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
It is worth noting that Gore has been a prominent advocate for climate change awareness and action for many years. His award-winning documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth,” brought global attention to the issue and solidified his role as a climate change activist.
The ongoing debate about the role of fossil fuels in the transition to a sustainable energy future will continue. However, it is clear that the influence and resistance from the fossil fuel industry remain significant barriers to progress. Overcoming these challenges will require cooperation and determination from all stakeholders involved.
In conclusion, Al Gore’s assertions about the hindrance posed by the fossil fuel industry provide a sobering reminder of the urgency of addressing climate change. While the transition to renewable energy sources and the elimination of fossil fuels may not be easy, it is necessary for the wellbeing of our planet and future generations. Governments and leaders must prioritize sustainable energy solutions and overcome the obstacles presented by the fossil fuel industry in order to make meaningful progress in the fight against climate change.
