Alex Berenson Sues Biden, Pfizer Board Member Over Twitter Ban
Former New York Times journalist Alex Berenson has sued President Joe Biden and a Pfizer board member for allegedly pressuring Twitter to ban him. Berenson was suspended from Twitter in 2021 after officials urged the social platform to take action against him for his COVID-19 vaccine criticism. Although Twitter initially resisted the request, it ultimately banned Berenson from the platform. Berenson later settled a lawsuit with Twitter and was reinstated after the company acknowledged that it was wrong. In his latest suit, Berenson is targeting the officials who pressured Twitter, including Pfizer board member Dr. Scott Gottlieb and Dr. Andrew Slavitt, a former White House COVID-19 official. Berenson claims that their actions violated his First Amendment rights and is asking for damages. The suit also asks the court to block the government from targeting Berenson.
Berenson is a vocal critic of the COVID-19 vaccines, claiming that they have failed to stop infection or transmission. He has been quoted as saying, “It doesn’t stop infection. Or transmission. And we want to mandate it? Insanity.”
Officials Named in the Lawsuit
The defendants in the case are President Biden, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, White House officials Rob Flaherty and Dr. Andrew Slavitt, Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla, and Pfizer board member Dr. Scott Gottlieb. None of them have responded to requests for comment from The Epoch Times.
