Hillary Clinton draws parallels between Trump and Hitler in ‘offensive’ D-Day post urging people to vote
Hillary Clinton sparked controversy by equating voting against Trump to D-Day heroism. Shutting down replies, she faced backlash for trivializing WWII sacrifices with her political stance. Critics, like Army Ranger Sean Parnell, expressed outrage, condemning her actions as disrespectful. The Twitterverse echoed disapproval, branding her remarks as insensitive and self-serving. Hillary Clinton faced criticism for comparing voting against Trump to D-Day heroism, leading to backlash for belittling WWII sacrifices. Army Ranger Sean Parnell and others condemned her actions as disrespectful, with the Twitter community branding her remarks as insensitive and self-serving.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton used the 80th anniversary of D-Day to draw a comparison between Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler and former President Donald Trump, claiming that those who voted against Trump would be doing as much to “protect democracy” as the boys who stormed the Normandy beaches.
Clinton appeared to have some idea that her thoughts might not be well-received, as evidenced by the fact that she shut down replies to the post on X.
“Eighty years ago today, thousands of brave Americans fought to protect democracy on the shores of Normandy. This November, all we have to do is vote,” she wrote.

“Holy s*** I despise these people,” Army Ranger veteran Sean Parnell posted. “It’s impossible to capture just how loathsome a comment this is. To cheapen what WWII heroes did to BS garbage politics makes me sick. Again, WWII veterans deserve so much better than this.”

“What kind of shameless, broken, lizard person do you have to be to tweet out some nonsense like this? ‘Yes I know what it was like for those soldiers on Omaha beach ducking machine gun fire, I went to vote. I am braver than the troops,’” came from @ComfrotablySmug. “She has never recovered from Trump’s win.”

“In 2016 you attempted to undo everything they fought for by partnering with Fusion GPS to launder discredited oppo in the press, and merchandise it into surveillance warrants on enemies through FISA. Were my WWII vet grandparents alive today they’d slam this,” radio host Dana Loesch added.

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro summed up his thoughts as well: “What an enormously stupid and vile comment. Trump is not Hitler. And voting is not storming a beach under a hail of machine-gun fire to free millions from the tyranny of the Nazis.”
