American nurse and child abducted in Haiti while working with Christian aid organization.

An American Nurse ⁤and Her Child Kidnapped ⁤in Haiti

Last week, ⁤a ‌shocking‌ incident‌ unfolded in Haiti as an American ⁣nurse and her ⁤child were⁣ kidnapped. The Christian aid group El Roi Haiti reported⁣ the abduction, which occurred on July 27 ‍near their ‍campus in Port au Prince.

Alix Dorsainvil, the nurse, has dedicated herself to serving the‌ Haitian people and ‌considers Haiti her home. She has ⁤worked‌ tirelessly as‌ a school and‍ community nurse, bringing relief to those in need. The Christian aid group described her as a ⁤deeply compassionate ⁣and loving person.

“Alix has worked tirelessly as our school and community nurse‍ to bring relief‍ to‍ those ⁢who ⁣are suffering as she loves and serves the⁤ people of ⁢Haiti in the name of⁤ Jesus.”

The State Department is actively working with Haitian authorities to address ⁢this distressing situation. However, El Roi ⁣Haiti has requested⁣ that‌ people⁢ refrain from speculating on social media about the incident.

Alix Dorsainvil is ⁢married ‍to Sandro Dorsainvil, the director of ‌the aid group. The age of their child is⁢ currently unknown.

In previous videos, Alix expressed her deep‍ love for the‍ resilient and joyful Haitian ⁣people. She considers herself blessed to know⁤ so⁣ many‍ amazing Haitians.

El Roi Haiti’s Mission

El ⁢Roi ⁢Haiti operates a Christian‌ school with approximately 390 students ranging from pre-K to 12th grade. Additionally, ⁤the group provides adult discipleship groups and education‌ programs ⁢to ‍strengthen families and build healthy communities according to⁣ God’s design and purpose.

Concerns for U.S.⁢ Citizens in⁢ Haiti

The State Department has issued warnings‌ to Americans, advising against travel to Haiti‍ due⁣ to⁢ ongoing political ⁣unrest‌ and violence. ⁤Kidnappings, including those involving U.S. ‌citizens, have become widespread in the country.

“Kidnapping is ⁤widespread, and victims ⁤regularly ‍include U.S. citizens. Kidnappers ‌may use ⁤sophisticated planning or take advantage of unplanned opportunities, ⁢and even convoys ⁣have⁢ been attacked,”

Christian missionaries have also been targeted in ⁣the past. In 2021, 17 individuals‌ from ⁢Christian Aid Ministries, including missionaries and their⁤ family members, were held captive for several months before being released. The abduction was⁤ carried out by the 400 Mawozo gang in the ‍Haitian‌ capital of Port-au-Prince.
