Andrea Mitchell, the longtime host of Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC, plans to end hosting her daily television news show at the end of this week.
“After sixteen years of being in the anchor chair every day, I want time to do more of what I love the most: connecting, listening, and reporting in the field, especially as whoever is elected next week is going to undertake the monumental task of handling two foreign wars and the political divisions here at home,” Mitchell had previewed on Oct. 29.

When she wraps her final show on Friday, Feb. 7, Mitchell will remain as NBC News’s chief Washington correspondent and chief foreign affairs correspondent. She will still be available for breaking news coverage and political events.
Mitchell has been a longtime left-leaning critic of Trump and in one NBC Meet the Press segment last September, she complained about the misogyny that Vice President Kamala Harris faced as a presidential candidate.
“I think there’s misogynation in all of this, black and white men, big problem. But also, the business world, they don’t think she is serious,” Mitchell said.
The broadcasting industry has seen several shake-ups surrounding President Donald Trump’s second term in office in recent weeks.
On Jan. 28, CNN’s Jim Acosta announced his plans to leave the network after plans to shift his timeslot to a late hour. Additionally, news broke last Wednesday that there could be massive layoffs at the network.
Late last week, former “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd said in a memo to NBC colleagues last week that he planned to leave NBC News after nearly two decades.
" Conservative News Daily does not always share or support the views and opinions expressed here; they are just those of the writer."
