Cuomo accuser criticizes NY lawmaker’s claim of 200 ethnic backgrounds.

Aide Compares Assemblywoman’s Social Media‌ Post to ⁤Cuomo’s Controversial Statement

A former aide of former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has drawn a comparison between a ⁤controversial social ‍media post from a state assemblywoman and a controversial statement made by Cuomo himself. According to ‌the aide,⁢ they both took away “different‍ lessons” from their time‍ working for Cuomo.

Assemblywoman’s Bold Statement on Social Media

New York Democratic⁤ lawmaker Jenifer⁣ Rajkumar recently made a ‍bold statement on the social media platform X (formerly known ⁢as Twitter). She claimed to embody all 200 distinct ethnic origins that make up the ⁢diverse population of New York City.

“NYC is home to people from over 200 distinct ethnic origins. And I am ‍ ALL of them,” Rajkumar, who represents Queens, replied.

Aide ‌Draws Parallels to Cuomo’s Controversial Remarks

Lindsey Boylan,⁤ a former aide who accused Cuomo of sexual harassment in 2018, pointed out the resemblance between Rajkumar’s post and a controversial statement made by the former governor at a press conference in ‌2017.

“We both ‌worked for Andrew Cuomo. I’ve known for some time that we took away entirely different ⁣lessons,” Boylan posted alongside an image of⁣ Cuomo’s archived speech. “This barely scratches the surface.”

Question from Reporter Sparks Assemblywoman’s Response

Rajkumar’s post was in response to a⁤ question from a local reporter, who asked whether she was an ”honorary” member of every nationality in the city due to her frequent ‌visits to the mayor’s mansion. This question arose after New‌ York City’s Democratic mayor, Eric Adams, referred to Rajkumar as an “honorary Dominican.”

Rajkumar’s Background and Political Roles

Rajkumar, who was chosen by Cuomo to serve as his director of immigration affairs⁢ and special counsel for the New York Department of State in 2017, was⁢ elected to the State Assembly in 2020. She was also selected by Mayor Adams⁢ to be part of his transition team when he assumed office in 2021.
