Angel Studios and AMC Theaters Respond to Sound of Freedom Screening Rumors
Angel Studios and AMC Theaters have addressed rumors circulating on social media regarding screenings of the film Sound of Freedom, dismissing them as “not accurate.”
The rumors revolve around several TikTok videos where moviegoers express their frustration over the lack of air conditioning during the screenings. In one video, a woman even mentioned receiving a refund for her ticket due to the uncomfortable theater conditions.
Clearing Up the Misinformation
“We understand that there are rumors, primarily on social media, suggesting that AMC theaters have made it difficult for fans to watch Sound of Freedom. We want to make it clear that these rumors are not accurate,” stated Brandon Purdie, Head of Angel Theatrical Distribution. He further emphasized the strong partnership between AMC and Angel Studios, revealing that due to the movie’s success and high demand, AMC has agreed to add additional screens for Sound of Freedom this weekend.
AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron also expressed his frustration with the spread of misinformation, stating, “So much garbage information is being spread.” He highlighted that over one million people have already watched Sound of Freedom at AMC, surpassing any other theater chain’s numbers. Additionally, AMC has responded to the movie’s popularity by adding more showtimes.
Supporting AMC and Theater Staff
Angel Studios and the movie’s producers have urged fans to support AMC and other theatrical partners, especially during the busy summer season. They emphasized the importance of showing kindness to local theater staff when watching Sound of Freedom.
Furthermore, Angel Studios announced that an additional 450 theaters will be screening the movie this weekend, joining the already impressive count of 2,852 theaters.
