Another Norfolk Southern train derails in Springfield, Ohio after toxic East Palestine spill
The Norfolk Southern freight train was derail in Ohio On Saturday night, one month following the accident with a train transporting hazardous materials for another company, concerns were raised about the safety and well-being of all those in the vicinity.
A spokesperson for the company said that the incident occurred Saturday near Springfield, Ohio. The train was traveling south at 212 cars. Around 20 cars of the train were not carrying passengers. The State Route 41 accident near Clark County Fairgrounds caused the train to be derail. Officials advised local residents within 1,000 feet to seek shelter. Over 1,500 households were temporarily cut off by the train derailment.

Norfolk Southern insists there was no danger aboard the train. This could be similar to what took place in East Palestine (Ohio) in February.

While temporarily evacuated residents, authorities intentionally released the chemicals in the air to try and avoid an explosion.
