Ant Anstead Files For Full Custody Of 2-Year-Old Son He Shares With HGTV Star Christina Hall, Claims Neglectful Behavior
Christina Hall’s ex-husband, Ant Anstead, is filing for full custody of their 2-year-old son. Court documents state that he finds her parenting skills lacking and cited specific examples detailing these alleged shortcomings.
Anstead, a British TV presenter and car enthusiast, wed Hall, star of the HGTV series “Christina on the Coast,” in 2018. Both had been married before and had children from those relationships. The pair welcomed son Hudson in September 2019.
According to Fox News, the “Wheeler Dealers” star filed a lawsuit Thursday claiming that Hall, 38, has spent an “average of nine full days each month over the last 20 months and an average of seven full days per month in 2022” with Hudson.
The suit further petitioned for Hall’s “regular” custody schedule to change so the toddler is only with his mom on “alternating weekends, Friday at 4 p.m. until Sunday at 6 p.m. commencing May 6, 2022, in California only, and except for vacations.”
“This will allow Christina’s time to be stepped-up over the next several months to match the schedule she has with her other children,” Anstead’s attorney wrote in the document.
Anstead alleges that Hall is unfit to be the primary guardian for a few reasons. He said she had smoked a psychedelic “toad venom hallucinogenic.” He also accused his ex of using Hudson for sponsored posts on Instagram. Finally, the TV presenter recounted an alleged incident where the child came home with severe sunburn while in the care of his mother.
The couple has shared joint custody of Hudson since their divorce in 2020. Hall is also the mother of Brayden James, 6, and daughter Taylor Reese, 11, from her marriage to “Flip or Flop” costar Tarek El Moussa. Meanwhile, Anstead shares daughter Amelie, 18, and son Archie, 15, with Louise Storey.
The “Christina on the Coast” star married her third husband, real estate agent Joshua Hall, in April 2022.
Hall responded to Fox News’ request for comment by saying, “What Ant is doing deeply saddens me. If this was really about Hudson, as he says, this should have been handled privately with a private judge or mediation, as myself and my attorney have suggested.”
“I have had my share of ups and downs but I am a good mom and I love my children with all my heart and I will always protect them,” she continued.
When Hall and Anstead separated, they released a statement confirming that peaceful co-parenting was their primary focus. “We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,” she shared in a September 2020 Instagram post.
“There’s never been a scenario where I’ve asked for him and not had him and vice versa,” Anstead told People in 2021.
Later that year, Hall reiterated that she and her ex-husband were on the same page when it came to dealing with their son.
“The kids come first for all of us. That’s how it will always be,” she said in December 2021.
