Antifa Calls for Violence Against Georgia Police After “Comrade” Is Shot and Killed
Antifa accounts have called for a day on social media for violence to respond to the shooting death of an officer in police custody. This is in response to the ongoing occupation of a wooded area near Atlanta, Georgia. The site of a new police academy has been chosen. During the Wednesday shootout, an officer was also wounded.
As far-left protesters oppose the construction of a training facility for the Atlanta Police Department, the occupation of the forest has been ongoing since months. Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Michael Register said that the protester fired first while officers were clearing out an illegal encampment. Fox 5 Atlanta.
“An individual, without warning, shot a Georgia State Patrol trooper,” Register. “Other law enforcement personnel returned fire in self-defense and evacuated the trooper to a safe area. The individual who fired upon law enforcement and shot the trooper was killed in the exchange of gunfire.”

Twitter has since removed accounts calling for violence. This is significantly different from the previous ownership that allowed the accounts organize events that often led riots during 2020.
