AOC Faces Questions Over Mystery Twitter Account
A Twitter user named Niko House sparked questions about Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez when he pointed out a “burner” Twitter account. Whenever he replied to Ocasio-Cortez’s tweets, a seemingly random account would respond, using the first-person perspective as if the congresswoman herself was responding. As the credible Twitter user’s (@zazasmoka) account was further scrutinized, it became apparent that whoever was controlling the account was tweeting in defense of AOC and sending death threats toward The Daily Wire podcast host and “What Is a Woman?” creator Matt Walsh. Walsh asked Ocasio-Cortez to denounce this kind of rhetoric if the account was indeed hers. Ocasio-Cortez did not respond to these tweets. However, she would not be the first elected official to use an anonymous “burner account” as Senator Mitt Romney did previously.
