AOC joins TikTok to post video saying the app should not be banned in the US
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) created her own TikTok account in an effort to speak out against the bipartisan effort to ban the social media platform in the United States.
Congress is debating whether the U.S. do completely outlaw TikTok because of its ties to China when the congresswoman makes her case. In her video, Ocasio-Cortez argued that the fact that social media companies are permitted to gather user details without any” vital regulation anymore” does not tackle” the core of the issue” of outlawing the app in the United States.

According to Ocasio-Cortez,” The United States is one of the primary developed countries in the world that has no vital data or protection protection laws on the books.”
Ocasio-Cortez argued that the proper course of action is to protect U.S. citizens from” this kind of severe details harvesting” used by businesses rather than” ban an individual company.”
TikTok has already been outlawed across all public products in a number of states, with Gov. South Dakota’s Kris Noem ( R ) was the first to do so. According to Yahoo Finance, some state, including Virginia, Texas, and Ohio, have done the same.

Just days before the social media app is outlawed on all federal products on March 29, Ocasio-Cortez uploads a TikTok game. On February 27, the White House gave all national authorities in the United States 30 days to remove TikTok from all government-issued mobile devices, according to Associated Press.
