Arizona man arrested for mailing kilos of powdered fentanyl and cocaine.
On September 14, 2023, at 11:23 AM, James Meyers of OAN reported that a man in Arizona has been arrested for allegedly shipping kilos of fentanyl and cocaine through the mail from two homes in the state. Pinal County deputies intercepted a package at a UPS store on August 30th, which contained one kilo of powdered fentanyl dropped off by Gabriel Beltran Lopez, a 36-year-old suspect. Detectives later found two additional kilos of powdered fentanyl and six kilos of cocaine, making the total amount of fentanyl three kilos. Following the discovery of the remaining substances in the package, search warrants were executed at two residences in Arizona City and Eloy.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office stated that the three kilos of powdered fentanyl could potentially produce three million fentanyl pills with a street value of $15 million or more. Lopez is accused of sending the drugs to contacts in multiple states, including New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, and Nebraska. Sheriff Mark Lamb expressed gratitude to the detectives for their swift actions, emphasizing that the drug bust potentially saved many lives. Lopez has been taken into custody at the Pinal County jail on multiple drug charges.
