Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb Files Paperwork to Run for US Senate
Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb has officially declared his candidacy for the U.S. Senate in Arizona on April 11. He is the first Republican to challenge Sen. Kyrsten Sinema(I-Ariz.).
In his announcement video, Lamb asserted the need for leaders who prioritize protection and reject political correctness.
Additionally, Lamb highlighted the importance of family, drawing from the loss of his son, his son’s fiancee, and their young daughter in a car crash caused by a suspected drunken driver last year.
In his statement, Lamb emphasized his commitment to conservative values and his dedication to serving as a voice for those values in the Senate. Specifically, he aims to defend God, family, and freedom, secure the border, support law enforcement, defend the Second Amendment, and cut wasteful spending, among other objectives if elected.
Lamb’s Focus on Immigration Policy
Throughout his campaign, Lamb has strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s handling of the U.S.-Mexico border and aligned himself with former President Donald Trump’s vision for finishing the border wall, enforcing stricter laws, and taking direct actions to curb illegal immigration and drug smuggling by Mexican cartels. Ultimately, he called for the U.S. military to take a more proactive approach to stopping these issues.
Moreover, Lamb has created a streaming series titled “American Sheriff Network,” which aims to showcase the work of law enforcement agencies.
The Republican primary for the Senate seat could feature a high-profile contest, with Kari Lake, a former journalist, and a past candidate for Arizona governor, as a potential opponent.
According to recent reports, Lake has been considering her candidacy for the Senate race, and her interview with Dan Ball on the One America News Network confirmed her intent to run.
Ultimately, Lamb and Lake are not the only candidates to consider running, as others have reportedly expressed interest awaiting formal announcements before entering the race.
