The State Department has confirmed that at least eleven Americans lost their lives in the recent terrorist attacks carried out by Hamas in Israel. This devastating news has shocked the nation.
Tragically, the death toll in Israel has risen to over 800 Israelis since the attacks began on Saturday. The Palestinian Ministry of Health has reported over 550 deaths in the Gaza Strip. The situation is dire and the world is watching in horror.
“At this time, we can confirm the deaths of nine U.S. citizens,” a spokesperson for the U.S. Embassy in Israel told Fox News. “We extend our deepest condolences to the victims and to the families of all those affected.
In a recent interview on MSNBC, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller expressed concern about the well-being of Americans in the region. There are reports of Americans who are still unaccounted for, adding to the growing sense of urgency.
“We continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in touch with our Israeli partners and the local authorities,” the spokesperson continued. “We are in touch with the families and providing all appropriate consular assistance.”
“We continue to work to confirm that number and to try to locate those who are missing,” he added. “We don’t have solid information about either the number or where they might be.”
The casualties continue to mount as the conflict escalates. The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has declared war and mobilized 300,000 reservists in preparation for a ground assault in Gaza.
