The stage is set for an exciting final at the Atlanta Open as Taylor Fritz secured his spot with a commanding 6-3, 7-5 victory over J.J. Wolf in the semifinals.
The top-seeded Fritz displayed his dominance by breaking Wolf’s serve early in the match and maintaining his lead throughout. With a strong serve and solid play, Fritz secured his second hardcourt title on American soil this season.
Reflecting on his performance, Fritz said, “It was really solid; I served well the whole match. Whenever I was in trouble, I played a lot of good points. I just did what I was supposed to do and didn’t really give him much.”
Fritz will now face Aleksandar Vukic of Australia in the final, aiming for his sixth career title.
Zverev Advances to Hamburg European Open Final
Alexander Zverev, the fourth seed from Germany, cruised into the final of the Hamburg European Open with a convincing 6-2, 6-4 victory over Arthur Fils of France.
This final marks Zverev’s first title match since May of last year, and it holds special significance as it takes place in his hometown. With 19 career titles under his belt, Zverev aims to become the first German player to win at Hamburg since Michael Stich in 1993.
In the final, Zverev will face Laslo Djere of Serbia, who secured his spot with a 6-3, 6-2 win over China’s Zhizhen Zhang in the other semifinal.
