The young women described by Markowicz as white girls, tossing their glasses against the wall with the book displays. Mandel received books and drinks, and the author was left soaking wet.
“I saw two wild-eyed young white women run up to our party and scream ‘Black Lives Matter!'” Markowicz was recalled by The Daily Wire in an email. “They threw their drinking glasses at the wall where our books were displayed and ran off.”
“Suddenly I heard screaming, had books thrown at me and I was soaking wet,” Mandel said. “I realized young women with short, dyed blue hair were screaming at us ‘black lives matter, trans lives matter!’ I tried to talk to them, but they ran off.”
Mandel brought her baby girl, two months old, along to the event. She is still breastfeeding her child. Just moments prior to the attack, one her close friends was cuddling with the baby, who was unharmed.
“I brought my two-month-old baby into New York because I’m breastfeeding and he needs his mother. After a long day of publicity, we arrived at our book party ready to relax and celebrate with friends and colleagues. One of my best friends took the baby, excited to cuddle with him for a few minutes. She whisked him away for other girlfriends to admire and I stood near the entrance chatting with an elderly attendee,” Mandel told the story of the moments that preceded the incident.
Protesters shouted louder at females “Stolen Youth” Authors spoke also to attendees of the event. “At the end of the event as guests were leaving, a different group of young women lingered in the doorway calling attendees fascists c***s and yelling homophobic slurs.”

“Our book is a calm, rational take on the indoctrination and forced conformity happening in America today and the way it is aimed at children,” Markowicz noted. “Their protest proved our point.”
“The deep anger at a book they haven’t read, at the fact that opinions other than their own may even exist, wanting to shut down an event held by people with which they may disagree, it’s exactly the kind of conformity that we talk about in the book,” She continued. “They’ve been allowed to rampage like this for too long and after no one has stopped them from coming for adults, they’re heading for your kids.”
Markowicz responded online to the incident by creating a humorous gif “The Office,” Mocking protesters “We had protesters at our book party in NYC tonight. They screamed ‘black lives matter’ and threw a glass that didn’t break,” She captioned her tweet.
“I said ‘can you redo that, no one got it on video’ and then they ran off,” She added a second tweet. “How embarrassing for them.”
