A Shocking Attack on a Cruise Autonomous Vehicle in San Francisco
A video has been making rounds on social media, capturing a masked individual launching a relentless assault on a stationary Cruise autonomous vehicle in San Francisco.
The weapon of choice? Either a hammer or a pickaxe. Fortunately, no one was inside the vehicle during this shocking incident.
The video shows the assailant repeatedly striking the car for approximately 30 seconds at the intersection of Haight Street and Buchanan Street. The attacker managed to escape before law enforcement arrived at the scene.
The video was originally shared on X by San Francisco journalist Stuart Schuffman on September 11th and was credited to Instagram user caterywta. According to Schuffman, the incident took place over the weekend.
A spokesperson for Cruise expressed deep concern over the attacker’s behavior, stating, ”While there was no one in the vehicle at the time, our top priority is always safety. We have reported the incident to law enforcement and hope they can identify and hold the responsible parties accountable.”
The spokesperson confirmed that the vehicle sustained damage and a police report has been filed.
