Balenciaga Has First Runway Show Since BDSM-Themed Photo Shoot Scandal
Balenciaga It held its first runway presentation since the scandalous photo shoot that featured children with teddy bears wearing BDSM-themed clothing.
It was a markedly different show from the fashion house’s Paris Fall 2023 event on Sunday. The Paris Fashion House Show featured no celebrities and did not include any theatrical acts. The New York Times reported.
This event took place at the Carrousel du Louvre old Carrousel, in an area of the museum with simple white spaces. Demna, a fashion designer known as Demna used clothing again. There were puffers and trousers as-trench coats and jackets made of leather and denim.

Some of the floral pieces were very long and flowing. Others had sleeves that almost reached the ground. The designer also offered floor-length, shimmering gowns for evening in black and silver.

A Balenciaga shownote shared TwitterDemna made a comment about the scandal. That was the designer’s statement. “fashion” Can “no longer be seen as an entertainment…”

“Fashion has become a kind of entertainment, but often that part overshadows the essence of it, which lays in shapes and volumes, silhouettes, the way we create relationships between the body and fabric, the way we make shoulder lines and armholes, the way clothes have an ability to change us,” The note says.
“In the last couple of months, I needed to seek shelter for my love affair with fashion and I instinctively found it in the process of making clothes,” They added it. “…This is what fashion to me can no longer be seen as an entertainment, but rather as the art of making clothes.”
In November, Demna and Balenciaga’s President and CEO Cédric Charbit came under fire after its website displayed images featuring its “Toy Stories” Campaign that featured child models with Teddy Bear handbags and the bears in bondage gear.

Balenciaga apologized for the incident and stated that it would be taking legal action against the production company responsible. Balenciaga’s $25 million lawsuit against producers of the fetish-themed shoot was dropped later. New York Post noted.
Demna made an apology for her actions in a statement that was since removed on December 7. Instagram, saying, “I want to personally apologize for the wrong artistic choice of concept for the gifting campaign with the kids and I take my responsibility.”
“It was inappropriate to have kids promote objects that had nothing to do with them.”
