This is not the first time Malik Obama has publicly shown his support for Trump. In 2016, he publicly backed Trump and explained his differences with his younger brother and the Democratic Party in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
During Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, he even invited Malik Obama to a debate with Hillary Clinton, recognizing the impact of his endorsement.
Malik Obama has expressed that his personal relationship with his younger half-brother has not improved during Barack Obama’s post-presidency. He believes that the presidency changed his brother, stating, “I think he’s a big disappointment to me because he’s not the same person that he used to be when we were together.”
Malik Obama stopped supporting his brother’s political career near the end of his presidency, stating, “I stuck with Barack Obama all through his presidency, until I realized he was all about himself. That’s when I ditched him for President Trump.”
In addition, Malik Obama has criticized his brother’s administration for the 2011 NATO intervention that removed former Libyan dictator Muammar Qaddafi from power.
Malik Obama, the son of Barack Obama Sr., a Kenyan economist, was born in Kenya and is a strong supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential aspirations in 2024.
