Barr labels Trump a ‘narcissist,’ warns against using nation as ‘therapy session.’
Former Attorney General Bill Barr’s Candid Remarks on Former President Donald Trump
In a recent appearance on CBS News’s Face the Nation, former Attorney General Bill Barr did not hold back in his assessment of former President Donald Trump. Barr referred to Trump as a “consummate narcissist” and urged the Republican Party to reconsider making him their presidential nominee.
Barr’s comments came in the wake of Trump facing 37 charges related to his mishandling of classified documents during his time in office. According to Barr, Trump had no right to possess such sensitive national security information as his personal papers.
“The legal theory by which he gets to take battle plans and sensitive national security information as his personal papers is absurd,” Barr stated. “It’s just as wacky as the legal doctrine they came up with for, you know, having the vice president unilaterally determine who won the election.”
Interestingly, Barr had previously directed U.S. attorneys to investigate allegations of election fraud during the 2020 election. However, by June of the following year, he admitted that there was no evidence of fraud and that the election outcome could not be changed.
According to Barr, Trump’s behavior resembles that of a “defiant 9-year-old kid” and a “consummate narcissist.” He believes that Trump consistently engages in reckless conduct and always prioritizes his own personal ego over the well-being of the nation. Barr posed a thought-provoking question to Republicans, asking if someone like Trump should be entrusted with the leadership of the free world.
“Our country can’t be a therapy session for a troubled man like this,” Barr expressed in reference to Trump.
It is clear that Barr’s remarks have ignited a discussion about Trump’s suitability for the presidency and the future direction of the Republican Party.
