Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro Exposes Global Entities Working to Silence Conservative Voices

In a Twitter thread, Ben‍ Shapiro, the former⁢ editor of the Daily Wire, sheds light⁢ on the powerful global entities ⁢that are actively deplatforming and demonetizing conservative voices.

Shapiro reveals that the World Economic Forum (WEF),‍ the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), and NewsGuard ⁤are collaborating⁢ to crack down on what they deem as “misinformation” and control which media is considered⁤ “safe” ‌for advertising.

The WFA, representing 90% of‌ global marketing communications,⁣ launched the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) in 2019. The World Economic Forum subsequently adopted GARM as one of its flagship projects.

“GARM is an unholy alliance between huge advertisers and social media companies like Google’s YouTube, China’s TikTok, Meta’s Facebook & Instagram, and even Twitter/X and Snapchat. GARM⁢ developed something they call ‌the ‘brand safety floor & suitability ⁤framework,'” Shapiro explains.

While the framework may seem reasonable in terms of ⁤blocking child pornography, it also includes suppressing viewpoints that GARM finds objectionable.

“But their ⁢authoritarian nature kicked ‌in, & they decided to ban cultural ⁢commentary they⁤ don’t approve of, like when we say ‍men can’t be women,” Shapiro points out.

These rules apply not only to legacy media and new media but also to independent ‍podcasters. Violating these rules by expressing unpopular truths can result in blacklisting, demonetization, or even deplatforming.

Shapiro believes that WEF‍ chairman Klaus Schwab doesn’t genuinely believe that transgender-identifying⁤ influencer Dylan Mulvaney is a woman. ⁤However, supporting this position weakens the family and social fabric, making it easier for those in power ‍to maintain control. It also aligns activists who protest against capitalism with the powerful.

One organization‍ aiding advertisers in meeting GARM‌ standards is NewsGuard, which rates American media based on supposedly apolitical criteria. NewsGuard‌ claims⁢ to identify “misinformation” that is “inappropriate for advertising‍ support.”

“The little compliance crusaders at NewsGuard engage in performative virtue signaling by going around issuing scores ⁢to media outlets based on their allegedly ‘apolitical’ criteria,” Shapiro criticizes.

The partnership⁤ between these entities‌ has raised concerns among lawmakers. House Judiciary Committee Chair⁣ Jim Jordan (R-OH) has subpoenaed officials from GARM and the WFA, suspecting ‌collusion that may violate U.S.⁢ antitrust law.

Shapiro concludes that the ultimate ⁤goal of ⁢these initiatives is to control information and restrict people’s exposure to certain ideas.

“There are certain industries where a violation of antitrust law isn’t going to result in disaster. The Left’s increasing desire to monopolize ‍news and commentary isn’t one of them. Take the time to know the players like your ⁢freedom⁣ depends on it, because ⁢it does,” Shapiro warns.
