Ben Shapiro Forecasts Trump’s Return to Presidency

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro believes former President Donald Trump will be elected to the White House again in November.

Shapiro made the prediction during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored that aired Wednesday. The Daily Wire host and co-founder is backing Trump and thinks he will win because of Biden’s poor performance as president.

“This is always the proviso: if Donald Trump can keep his trap somewhat shut, he is going to win,” Shapiro said. “If this is a referendum on Joe Biden’s leadership, Donald Trump will win. If Donald Trump makes himself the center of the election, then that’s a dicier issue for him, obviously.”

Shapiro and Morgan covered a variety of topics during the roughly 30-minute interview, such as Trump’s conviction last week on 34 felony counts in Manhattan. Shapiro has called the verdict a “put-up job” and the result of politically motivated targeting of Biden’s chief political opponent.

Morgan asked Shapiro if Trump had contributed to his own political persecution by pushing “lock her up” chants, referring to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, at his rallies in 2016. Shapiro said there is no comparison between the slogan popular at Trump’s 2016 rallies and the actual prosecution and potential jailing of a major political figure.

“I’ve met Donald Trump, I’ve been covering him for years obviously. If you take everything that Donald Trump says at pure face value, you’re a fool,” Shapiro said.

“He didn’t do it,” Shapiro continued, referring to prosecuting Clinton. “He was president of the United States. His DOJ was in charge. And he didn’t do it. And Joe Biden has been in charge for three years, and guess what? His DOJ is coming after Donald Trump in two separate jurisdictions, in Florida and in D.C. You’ve got local DAs in Atlanta and in New York going after Donald Trump. Kinda weird how it happens whenever it is the Democrats, but when Republicans talk about it, somehow that’s equivalent? I don’t buy it.”

The November election may not come down to Biden versus Trump, according to Shapiro. The Daily Wire host said that the prospect of Biden suffering a breakdown because of his old age and health issues before the November election “is really high.”

“I think that there is a really good shot that the thing that we’ve all been waiting for, which is some sort of serious health event to happen to Joe Biden, unfortunately, I have a feeling that’s going to happen before November.”
