Biden lifts COVID travel ban, Djokovic can play in U.S. Open.
The Biden Administration Lifts Travel Ban for Unvaccinated Foreigners
After two long years, the Biden administration has finally lifted its travel ban for foreigners who are unvaccinated against COVID-19. While it may have taken longer than expected, any win is worth celebrating at this point.
Novak Djokovic Can Finally Play in American Tournaments
One of the biggest beneficiaries of this lift is ATP world No. 1, Novak Djokovic. He missed out on two prominent tournaments this season due to the extended travel ban and had his exemption request denied. But now, he is free to enter any U.S.-based tournament he wishes, including the U.S. Open.
Djokovic is known for thriving on conflict and getting revenge on those who stand in the way of his goals. With this in mind, it’s safe to assume that he will be a force to be reckoned with once play at Arthur Ashe stadium begins this summer.
