Report: Biden Administration Facilitates Chinese Illegal Immigration to U.S
Border Patrol Agents Given Easier Path for Chinese Illegal Immigrants, Raising Concerns
Under the Biden administration, Border Patrol agents have been instructed to streamline the process for Chinese illegal immigrants entering the United States. Instead of the usual extensive questioning, agents now ask only five key questions. This controversial policy change was revealed in an April 2023 email sent by a Customs and Border Protection supervisor to a group of Border Patrol agents.
According to a former law enforcement official who provided the email to The Daily Caller, smugglers are coaching the Chinese immigrants on how to answer these specific questions. As a result, the immigrants quickly learn what to say and what to avoid. If they answer the five questions correctly, which cover topics such as military service and political party affiliation, they may be released into the country.
This new approach has raised concerns among experts. J.J. Carrell, a retired CBP deputy patrol agent, warns that this policy change does not prioritize the safety of the United States. Carrell believes that dangerous Chinese illegal immigrants will still find their way into the country, despite the government’s attempt to identify potential threats.
“This is just the government covering their a**, so they can say vetted,” Carrell stated. “I believe the government recognizes the threat of Chinese soldiers and spies that are pouring into America, and they want to try and identify those individuals. However, the same government does not want to stop the flow of illegal aliens or Chinese nationals — just the ‘bad ones,’ which is impossible.”
The email also instructs agents to refer any immigrants who answer affirmatively to the five questions to the tactical Terrorism Response Team (TTRT). The TTRT is responsible for interrogating Chinese illegal immigrants who may have ties to terrorism or the Chinese government. If an individual is deemed a security risk, they are handed over to the Joint Terrorism Task Force for further investigation and potential deportation.
Chinese nationals posing as tourists have raised concerns about potential spying threats. These individuals have been known to test the security of military bases and other sensitive sites. Incidents have occurred where these nationals, often found in rural areas where tourists are uncommon, use scripted language when confronted by security guards. When stopped, they claim to have simply gotten lost.
In September, The Wall Street Journal reported that the Defense Department and FBI, along with other agencies, investigated these incidents. They discovered that the Chinese nationals were transmitting the information they gathered back to the Communist Chinese government. The sheer number of individuals involved makes it difficult for the U.S. government to prove anything beyond trespassing.
Unauthorized access to military bases by Chinese nationals has also been reported. Some individuals have managed to speed through security checkpoints, leading to criminal citations and subsequent removal from the premises. When contacted for comment, both the Biden White House and the Department of Homeland Security declined to respond.
How does the Biden administration justify the policy change and its focus on addressing the humanitarian crisis at the southern border?
Egal immigrants from China. It’s a complete contradiction.”
Carrell’s concerns are echoed by many who argue that loosening the screening process for Chinese immigrants poses a national security risk. With tensions between the United States and China escalating in recent years, there have been increasing fears of espionage and infiltration by Chinese agents. The simplified questioning process could allow potential threats to slip through the cracks and enter the country undetected.
The Biden administration has defended the policy change, stating that it is aimed at addressing the humanitarian crisis at the southern border. With the surge of immigrants, particularly from countries like Mexico and Central America, the Border Patrol has been overwhelmed and stretched thin. Streamlining the screening process for Chinese immigrants is seen as a necessary measure to redistribute resources and alleviate the strain on the system.
However, critics argue that prioritizing the humanitarian crisis should not come at the expense of national security. They argue that the government has a responsibility to thoroughly vet all immigrants, regardless of their country of origin. The risk of potential threats entering the country cannot be ignored or downplayed.
Another concern raised by experts is the potential for abuse and exploitation of this policy change. Smugglers and individuals with malicious intent may take advantage of the simplified questioning process to facilitate illegal activities. The government’s attempt to streamline the process may inadvertently create loopholes that can be exploited by those seeking to harm the United States.
The issue of border security and immigration has always been a contentious one, and the Biden administration’s policy change regarding Chinese illegal immigrants is no exception. While some argue that the simplified questioning process is a necessary response to the current crisis, others assert that it compromises national security and sets a dangerous precedent. As tensions between the United States and China continue to mount, the delicate balance between humanitarian concerns and national security will remain a topic of debate and scrutiny. The question now is whether this policy change will effectively address the immediate challenges at the southern border without compromising the safety and security of the United States in the long run.
