On Sunday, a White House official⁤ announced another Coronavirus booster to counter a new wave of the virus.

It is reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has had increasing infection reports and admissions to the hospital due to a new subvariant.

“We ⁢will be encouraging all ‌Americans to get those boosters ‌in addition to flu shots⁢ and RSV shots,” the official said.

The announcement ⁣comes days after⁢ the CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) stated⁤ that they are tracking‌ another variant of the virus.

This new ⁤variant ⁢is⁢ being referred to⁣ as “BA.2.86” and is‌ being monitored by the WHO “due to the large number⁢ of⁤ mutations it carries.”

According to Moderna (MRNA.O), their initial data showed its updated COVID-19 vaccine is effective against the “Eris” and “Fornax” new sub variants.

It ⁣is reportedly expected for the new batch of boosters to become available in the⁤ next coming ‍weeks for the fall vaccination season.
