Biden Admits His DOJ Is Corrupt
On a recent Sunday, President Joe Biden acknowledged that his Department of Justice (DOJ) is “infected” by political influences, a statement he made while justifying a sweeping pardon issued to his son, Hunter Biden, for various offenses committed from January 2014 to December 2024. This pardon effectively shields Hunter from federal charges related to gun and tax violations, and also potential other crimes.
Biden’s rationale for the pardon stems from his belief that politics had compromised the DOJ’s integrity, leading to what he described as a miscarriage of justice. He detailed how the political surroundings affected the legal proceedings against Hunter, asserting that a father’s instinct drove his decision. However, the article critiques Biden’s view, arguing that the DOJ’s corruption, which has favored Hunter, is undeniable and highlights broader concerns about the integrity of politically charged legal actions.
The article further discusses how the DOJ has been involved in controversial prosecutions, indicating a pattern of political bias, particularly in the cases against former President Donald Trump. It mentions various legal actions taken by the DOJ, including the indictment of trump and the prosecution of individuals related to protests against the 2020 election. it asserts that Biden’s admission is valid but profoundly misdiagnosed, as it pertains to the protective measures afforded to Hunter rather than an objective appraisal of justice.
President Joe Biden admitted on Sunday that his Department of Justice (DOJ) is “infected” by politics. It’s an admission that’s entirely true — but not for the reasons Biden thinks.
Biden issued a blanket pardon for his son Hunter for “offenses against the United States which he has committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1, 2014 through December 1, 2024.” That means Hunter is off the hook for the federal gun and tax charges he was being prosecuted for, as well as other potential crimes he committed like FARA violations and money laundering.
In explaining the unprecedented, decade-long pardon, Biden said he had no choice since the DOJ was corrupted by politics.
“I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice — and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further,” Biden said. “I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.”
Biden’s right, his DOJ is corrupt. Under his DOJ, U.S. Attorney David Weiss delayed bringing charges against Hunter despite ample evidence that Hunter failed to pay more than $1.4 million in taxes and lied about drug use on his federal form to purchase a firearm. Biden’s DOJ hand-crafted a sweetheart plea deal for Hunter that eventually derailed after a judge scrutinized the broad immunity it afforded Hunter. The DOJ, as explained by my colleague Jordan Boyd, “specifically choked an IRS investigation and subsequent charging recommendations for Hunter because they feared it would hurt Joe’s chances in the 2020 election.”
All of that is corruption — corruption that only stood to benefit Hunter. But as far as victims of the Biden DOJ’s corruption goes, Hunter isn’t one of them.
The DOJ’s Jack Smith indicted President-elect Donald Trump twice. One indictment centered around Trump’s questioning of the administration of the 2020 election. (The other was related to Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents.) After Smith dragged Trump through the mud and made a mockery of the so-called “justice” system, the Supreme Court torpedoed Smith’s lawfare efforts in July when it ruled that a U.S. president has “absolute immunity” for “actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority” and “at least presumptive immunity” for all “official acts.”
Smith later filed a superseding indictment against Trump, refusing to let the case go because he thought it would hurt Trump’s chances of winning the election. Smith has since dropped the case after Trump’s victory.
Biden’s politicized DOJ has also prosecuted nearly 1,500 Americans for protesting the 2020 election, with Attorney General Merrick Garland telling Americans in August to take the prosecutions as a warning about what would happen to them should they raise questions about an election.
The DOJ also targeted a group of praying pro-lifers who decided to pray outside of an abortion clinic in the hope that their silent pleas would help save the life of an innocent child. Seven pro-lifers were found guilty of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and engaging in a civil rights conspiracy for, as explained by The Federalist’s Beth Brelje, “standing and sitting in front of the door of the Northland Family Planning Clinic” in Michigan in 2020.
The DOJ is corrupt and politicized, as Biden correctly pointed out. But the real victims of the DOJ’s perversion of justice are Trump and the American people, not Hunter Biden.
